Life insurance companies in Australia will no longer be able to use genetic testing to discriminate against potential insurees, with a new law banning the practice.
The Genetic Testing Protections in Life Insurance and Other Measures Bill was passed by both houses of Australia’s federal parliament on 1 April with bipartisan support. It will come into effect in six months time. Read more (paywall).
